The Operating Room Department of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences started to offer associate’s degree courses in 2004 and then BSc courses in 2008.

Graduates are expected to emulate the rapid development of surgical techniques and robotic and minimally invasive surgeries according to the standards of the World Association of Surgical Technologists up to the next 10 years.

1) Quantitative and qualitative empowerment of faculty members with respect to teaching, research and practice based on Seven Tasks;

2) Improving the level of teaching and evaluation of learners in theoretical, practical and clinical courses using various teaching and evaluation methods;

3) Quantitative and qualitative improvement of the resources and infrastructures necessary for education, research and scientific promotion of the department;

4) Quantitative and qualitative improvement of research with a further focus on research priorities set by the Ministry of Health;

5) Quantitative and qualitative improvement of international relations to admit foreign students and gain revenues; and

6) Reviewing courses in accordance with latest standards and content and the educational needs of the community and learners, and providing feedback to the Education Deputy and the Ministry of Health;

1) Evaluation of educational activities (teaching and learning) of professors and students to eliminate deficiencies;

2) Strategies to improve education, especially virtual training;

3) Assessing the challenges (patient care, equipment maintenance, ethics, patient safety, patient rights, patient privacy, occupational safety, psychological problems of staff, etc.) facing in the operating room and solutions to solve them;

4) Effective factors on education, motivation and satisfaction of professors and students;

5) Examination of differences between practice and theory; and

6) Strategies to enhance the capabilities of faculty members.
